I was first introduced to PaperPie (formerly Usborne Books and More) at a young age when my mom had purchased books for our family. I fell in love with the books and the company's mission to promote literacy throughout the country.
My journey with PaperPie (formerly Usborne Books & More) started back in elementary school. I was quite the book nerd as a child, preferring books over toys any day. My mother hosted a home party to get loads of free books! I remember gravitating toward Usborne’s nonfiction titles about animals!
Fast forward to 2015 when I attended my first PaperPie Facebook party, I was totally amazed and I wanted them ALL!! Even though it was summer, I decided to stock up on books for my daughter’s birthday and Christmas presents and I ended up spending $200 on books!
The two books that stood out to me the most were Secrets of the Seashore (a shine-a-light flashlight book) and Lift the Flap book about Words. I had never seen such unique books! My daughter was catching onto SO MUCH new vocabulary that it was unbelievable. As a teacher, I was VERY impressed by the educational quality of these books!
A few months later, PaperPie had a kit special and it was a discounted price to join PaperPie! I was teaching at the time, and I was seeking opportunities to bring in more income for my family. After asking some questions and getting my husband on board, I joined, hosted a launch party, and the rest was history.
